Shane Battier was 4-for-4 from 3-point range and scored 16 points as the Memphis Grizzlies, depending heavily of their reserves, beat the Atlanta Hawks 94-81 in an exhibition game Saturday night.
Rookie Dahntay Jones added 11 points for Memphis and Lorenzen Wright had 10.
Stephen Jackson had 18 points in 23 minutes for the Hawks, while Lee Nailon scored 15 points and Nazr Mohammed had 12.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim, the Hawks' leading scorer last season, had six points in 18 minutes.
Abdur-Rahim, who spent five seasons with the Grizzlies when they were in Vancouver before moving to Memphis, made his first appearance of the preseason following back surgery. Ticketmaster
Pau Gasol, the Grizzlies' leading scorer, had two points, while center Jake Tsakalidis had two points and three turnovers.
Memphis coach Hubie Brown limited Gasol, Tsakalidis and the other starters -- Jason Williams, Mike Miller and James Posey -- to eight minutes each.
Memphis led 47-36 at halftime.
The Grizzlies opened the second quarter with a 20-4 run sparked by consecutive 3-pointers by Battier. Stromile Swift also had six points in the run.
